Khalfe family in the Karoo
It was a dreamy family portrait session for me. I think every photographer has a great need and crazy urge to want to photograph on a dusty gravel road (I’m not even joking its a photographer thing).
I photographed this in the Klein Karoo, Opsoek Valley to be specific, which also happened to be a boiling hot summers day on the farm.if you don’t know where Opsoek is it is close to Zoar.If you don’t know where Zoar is it is close to Ladismith along the picturesque Route 62 in the Western Cape. We were already melting at 7 in the morning. The air freshener plastic actually melted to the rope in the car this day. This family was really so sweet and extremely funny, and they all were cracking jokes for the entire shoot. I think my tummy got a decent workout this day.
I love the farm so this place I really enjoyed. There is a sense of calmness and no rush when you are there. I can’t explain it any other way. I just enjoy being off the grid a bit sometimes. Helps me refocus and find perspective again. Something we all need in the City, you know how it goes.
I hope you love your pictures
